MCR Concert 4/10/11
I was blessed to actually go and see My Chemical Romance live in Concert Sun 4/10/11.
It was awesome in so many ways.

Working on the site this weekend
Despite the fact that Spring seems to finally arrived here in the Northeast I am going to be working on the site this weekend.
Adding SEO changes to make the site more search engine friendly.
Starting the YouTube integration so videos can be shared easily in profiles and blogs.
Adding an Articles section to give search engines even more relevant content to find.
Adding Character Left to all text …

Testing advertising
I am playing around with the advertising on the site this week. I will be testing out different combinations of ads in different places to see what works well where. Don't worry - not all the ads will be permanent. I don't really like having them but as the site is and will always be free for members we gotta pay the server bills somehow.

Adding a Forum
Spending the day today adding a new integrated forum (message board) to the site. While we had a forum on the old site that was not used much I still think it is important to have. Once setup I will populate it with some news feeds and stories from my blog on a daily basis. This will make a big difference in the amount of content that search engines find on DisDates.

Add vacation countdown tickers.
You can now add those fun little vacation countdown (or any other kind) tickers to profile text fields and blog posts. You have to make sure you copy the BBCode version of the ticker and not the HTML version. The have to be placed in the larger text area fields although I may change the My Next Disney Trip field to handle these.....

First day on the new DisDates.Com!
Really happy with how the first day on the new site went! We had 6 new members sign up and quite a few returning members checking out the new site. Those of you who remember the first few days on the old site have to agree this was MUCH smoother.
We actually had more visits and page views yesterday than we have seen in a very long time! Our 500th member joined the site also!! Still working on fix…
