Our Disney Traditions

There's something about Walt Disney World that causes even the most non-nostalgic person to cling to traditions there... and being that I am pretty much the opposite of that kind of person, traditions to the point of being almost superstitions are a big deal to me and my 15 year old son. Smile

Our first thing, no matter what, is to go to Magic Kingdom and stand under the monorail tracks. And wait... And then when the monorail goes whooshing overhead we know we are once again truly "home." The sound, the smell, it's all part of a moment that means a lot to us.

Another tradition we have when we're leaving Magic Kingdom for the last time that trip is to stop right before we go under the train station. We each pull a hair out of our heads and toss it back into the park, so that a part of us stays there. Silly, I know, but it's important to us and helps to ease the sad feeling of having to leave.

We have so many more... but those are the "bookend" traditions for us, at the beginning and end of each WDW trip. :-)
