'First Disney Date' Contest Entry by Kailey
For my first Disney date, if I was fortunate enough to go to one of the Disney Parks, I would want to go to the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
WDW's Magic Kingdom is my favorite park in so many ways. Since I was little I would see commericals ever so often on TV through out my childhood. I would stop and turn and dream of the day I could go and see that magical place. This dream grew stronger when I watched my Disney Park Sing Along Songs VHS. I would always love to sit there and watch the beautiful images while listening to the lovely childhood music and dream of the day I'd go. My favorite part that I'd play over and over again on the VHS would be Grim Grinning Ghosts. Now before one goes to thinking I'm a strange little girl at that age, which I was, I had many reasons for this loving of this part of the tape. I loved the melody, the building, the deco, the trees, the lighting, the characters, everything I saw! Before I knew any of these things I knew I loved that ride the most and had to ride it one day. Though it has a scary theme to it, The Haunted Mansion was my favorite for more then being a thrilling tale of ghosts to me. Never having known much about the ride other then this tape, I had no idea beyond what I saw the detailed stories behind it until many years later when I was allowed on the internet and also seen the movie and bought the Ride to Movie book as well. What captivated me beyond the ghosts was the beauty of the paintings, the mansion itself, the characters within, the decore, and so much more. One scene has always stuck with me most and was always my favorite memory was the ballroom dancers at the party. They were so elegant in their beautiful clothing and movements, though robotic, was beautiful and captivating to me. I watched them the most every time I played that part of the VHS. I'd watch them twirl and swirl with beautiful elegance in a dull light room that cast beauty all around them as time seemed to pass quickly, and yet still so slowly, never touching them as the women stared into their loves eyes and trusted them to lead them in a forever dance that would never faulter as they both loved each other. This is why I would go to the MK and ride the HM with my true love and snuggle close to him as we traveled through dark hallways that are dimly lit. I'd imagine that if I let go of him one second I'd be lost in the Mansion alone forever, wandering the halls always searching for him as a ghost in sorrow. In the graveyard I'd squeeze his arm and lay my head on his shoulder and listen to the music and hum along to the joyful tune. As we enter the Ballroom scene I'd pull him gentle in for a kiss and to remember it always in this joyful celebrating room. When in the attic I'd smile and snuggle by his side once more but this time with his arms around me as we pace the beatuful yet frightful Black Widow Bride. For sure after the ride I'd hug him close after we've left the building and kiss him in the queue and I'd want a romantic pic infront of the mansion.
When done, we'd move on to Cinderella's Castle and find a lovely restraunt that neither of us have possibly eaten at and sit together and talk and maybe even share parts of our meal between each other to try what the other likes. Once done, we'd sit and talk with each other about anything and then make our way towards the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride. A second favorite of mine.
I would like to avoid rides that would get me wet or to frightened, I'd get in a bad mood and wouldn't be a happy puppy for the rest of the time.
This would be a lovely Disney dream date for me.
